Kinnegad Plaza to be officially opened on August 25

The newest Supermac’s in the country will be officially opened on Sunday, August 25. The new site in

Kinnegad is the newest member of the Supermac’s Plaza Group, and the 75 jobs created will are at a Supermac’s, Papa Johns, SuperSubs, Mac’s Deli, Bewley’s, Texaco and a Spar store.

As well as an array of places to eat, there is also a large seating area and four rapid charging points for electric vehicles to cater for Ireland's growing electric car fleet.

The outlet will be officially opened by Marty Morrissey of RTÉ.

Supermac’s MD, Pat McDonagh, said that these were exciting times for his frim. “We are delighted to add The Kinnegad Plaza to the Supermac’s family,” he said.

During the construction phase at The Kinnegad Plaza there were approximately 120 staff working on the site.

There are currently up to 75 employees in store and the hope is that this number will increase over time.

“Things have been running smoothly since we opened a few weeks ago and we are delighted with the level of interest so far,” Mr McDonagh said.

“There has been a huge amount of excitement over it, we hosted a fundraiser with the world renowned stunt rider, Mattie Griffin, for the local GAA club and we’ve employed a lot of local staff, which is a real boost for the area too.”

Supermac’s is Ireland’s largest indigenous quick service restaurant chain.

Over the past few months, the company has been engaging in a major recruitment drive to get staff in various career levels, from managers to chefs, and a variety of catering, retail and customer service roles.

“Understanding the customers’ needs and being able to provide them with what they want is key to achieving sustainable success in this sector," Mr McDonagh said.

"More consumers today are cash-rich but time-poor, and that is something we always remember that quick and easy meal solutions need to be a top priority.”

The franchise currently has 120 outlets across the country.

Supermac’s also operates the Papa John’s Pizza brand and SuperSubs which provide Supermac’s customers with additional healthy options. A number of new stores are due to open throughout the year.
