"Young at Heart" GroupThe "Young at Heart" tour took place on Thursday the 3rd of July. The trip to Lissadel House and Gardens in Sligo was a very successful outing and an enjoyable day was had by all. Group events will take place again in September.Ballynacargy Canal FestivalThe committee would be grateful for any assistance with the running of the Ballynacargy Canal Festival this summer. If you wish to contact Cllr Robert Troy, Cllr Johnny Penrose, Tom Shanley or any committee member in order to lend your support. The festival will take place on Sunday August 17th. For more information contact Tom Price on 086 2204360Art ExhibitionAn exhibition of artwork which has been produced during the year by the participants of the Cara Phort Family Resource Centre senior art classes will be on showcase for two weeks. The public is welcome to drop into the Cara Phort Family Resource Centre and visit the exhibition.Summer CampThe annual Cara Phort Family Resource Centre summer camp will take place in Ballynacargy. The dates for the second camp are July 21st to July 25th for the children who have completed 4th, 5th and 6th classes. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, a treasure hunt, drama and a day trip. If parents have a few hours to spare assistance with supervision would be appreciated. Application forms are available from Cara Phort Family Resource Centre.
