Blizzards launch new midlands radio

The launch of a new midlands radio station called i105-107 took place in Athlone"s Radisson Hotel, with The Blizzards launching the station live over the air waves, and via the web, with their latest single The Reason, which is available in shops and to download from this Friday.i105-107 has been billed as the new upcoming youth radio station for the north-east and midlands, and will broadcast to Westmeath, Meath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.Based in Athlone, the station will employ 32 people in on-air, production and administrative roles. i105-107 will provide a fully interactive schedule for its target 15-34 year old target audience, encouraging them to become involved in music output, on-air discussion and to shape the sound of the station.Funny men Tommy Tieran and Hector O"hEochagain also entertained guests at the launch and will also feature as presenters on the new station. Other presenters include Abie Philbin Bowman and Cork man Simon Murdoch.The Blizzards rounded off the night by performing a 30 minute live show with songs from their latest album The Domino Effect including Trust Me I"m a Doctor, alongside hits from their debut album A Public Display of Affection.
