Moate Golf Club Annual General Meetings
This is the time of year when the various Clubs hold their Annual General Meetings. First up on Tuesday, January is the Ladies Club, where Carmel Scally will take over the Lady Captain"s role from Mary Kerrigan. Then on Friday, January 16 the Mens Club will see Dermot Kenny taking over from outgoing Captain, Padraig Keenan. On Sunday, January 25 the AGM of the Management Committee takes place, and among the items to be discussed is the updated Club Constitution. Full details of this, and other motions/nominations will be published in advance of the AGM.Members are urged to take part in the Club"s democratic process by considering submitting motions and nominations on the forms already circulated by Hon Secretary Eileen White, and especially to make the effort to attend the AGM on the day.Winter LeagueThe number of rounds played in the Winter League has been affected by the severe frost throughout the midlands over the Christmas period. While several teams are on schedule, quite a few will struggle to finish six rounds before the end of January. The Mens Committee meet on Friday, and no doubt consideration will be given to extending the qualification date by a week or so. Further details next week. Meanwhile, the weather is forecast milder for this weekend, which should provide the opportunity to get more rounds played.Ladies ClubThe AGM of the Ladies Club will take on Tuesday, January 13 at 7.30pm.
