This was the first year that schools were given the opportunity to raise money for either their school or a charity of their choice.Game Playing Day is the initiative of toys and games company, Hasbro who pledged a hamper of six board games, chosen from a selection of top MB and Parker games, free for every school that took part in Game Playing Day.Anne Dermody from Hasbro commented: 'We understand the pressure schools are under to make ends meet and also appreciate the many needs of the local community. So we thought this year we"d give schools the opportunity to have some fun and raise money for something they feel will best benefit the children.'We were delighted with the response from teachers, parents and students. The photographs, poems and stories we received following the event were absolutely amazing. It was incredibly difficult to choose a winner.'Game Playing Day is part of National Game Playing Week (NGPW), which runs every year in October.
