Next Sunday, 1st March, sees the formal inauguration of Dermot Kenny as Captain and Carmel Scally as Lady Captain. As usual a four-person Scramble will take place at the club at 12 noon, with a shotgun start.The timesheet is full and is available HERE. If anyone is unavailable please contact the club (090 64 81271) as there is a healthy waiting list who would love to honour the Captains by playing next Sunday.All players are asked to report to the Clubhouse at 11.30 and to be available on their designated tee-box for the 12 noon start.Winter League Grand FinalThe was an air of aprehension around the Club at 11.00am last Sunday morning when 16 teams gathered to contest the Seery Cash and Carry Winter League Final. The course was splendidly set-up from the Blue tees and the weather gods smiled on the new committee"s first successful venture. The scoring matched the conditions and, when all of the sums were done, the team led by Seamus Lynam proved that nothing was ever won during the qualification phase. They out gunned all comers to win by 2 clear shot (155), from Rory Minagh"s squad, who looked likely winners for most of the day. 3rd place went to the team of Junior members, led by Paul Coughlan.Results:Winter League - 1st: S Lynam, P Lynam, C McGuinness, P Carroll, C Farrell - 155pts 2nd: R Mynagh, P O"Brien, L Donaldson, H Flanagan, D Farrell - 153pts 3rd: P Coughlan, B Guinan, C Bradley, A Farrell, I Flanagan - 151pts.Weekly Competition: Cat 1 - 1st: M Johnson (10) - 31pts, 2nd: A Conroy (10) - 30pts, Cat 2 - 1st: D Browne (12) - 29pts, 2nd: S Connell (13) - 29pts, Cat 3: J Cleary (23) - 34pts, J Burke (19) - 32pts.LadiesEleanor Fitzpatrick (24) and Carmel Carroll (28) got off to a good start for the year with Eleanor coming first with a score of 30pts and Carmel with a score of 28 pts in the weekly competition last week. There are still some cards outstanding in the Winter/Spring League, the players concerned are asked to please submit the cards before or on Saturday 28th February. The ladies club wish Lady Captain Carmel Scally and Captain Dermot Kenny a very successful Captains Drive-In on Sunday 1st March.
