This year an Open Fourball has also been scheduled for Easter Monday. The Paddy Brady matchplay is moving along nicely, with victories for M Forde/B Cuffe, P Lynam/W Flynn, I Flanagan/B Guinan and S Nestor/J Smith. Most spectacularly of all was the vicory of Paul Coughlan and Alan Simpson over Eamon Coughlan and Ray Lynam. At the 4th Tie hole, Paul holed out his tee shot for a hole-in-one to finish the match in fine style.Mixed foursomes victoryThe Irish Mixed Foursomes team began their campaign in fine style last Saturday, against a battling Highfield side. At home, Dinny and Eileen White only needed 14 holes to see off their opponents, while Bert Burke and Beth Dunne, after a hesitant start, repeated the victory, also on the 14th.Away from home, Liam Galvin and Betty Behan fought hard before losing on the 17th hole. Dom FitzPatrick and Veronica Coughlan, however, dug deep and took the crucial victory on the 17th hole. This meant that Eamon and Geraldine Coughlan were not needed, although they were all square on the 17th.Ladies ClubThe weekly competition on Wednesday 1st April was sponsored by Ann Whelan and Carmel Connolly. It was won by Amy Farrell (11) - 39 pts, with Mary Rohan (17) - 38 pts and Maura Igoe (26) - 38 pts taking second and third place. The weekly competition on Wednesday 8th April is in aid of the Irish Cancer Society so a good turnout would be appreciated. Congratulations to the Mixed Foursomes Team who were successful against Highfield last Saturday
