Congratulations to Club member, Amy Farrell, who has been selected on the Under 18 Interprovincial team for the championsip to be played at Woodenbridge Golf Club this week. Amy has shown dramatic improvement in the last 12 months and no doubt this is only the first of many honours she will win in the game over the years. We wish her the best of luckClub newsCongratulations to John Nally who won the Good Friday Open with 43 points, from a field of over 150 competitors. Paul Fogarty continued his good form to take second with 41 points, while Pat Fox, also 41 points, took third place. David Coughlan (3) was the Gross Prize winner, while Michael O"Brien (Snr), with 24 points was good enough to claim the Back Nine Prize.Next weekend the competition is sponsored by Cochrane"s Bar and Fashion and no doubt there will be a good entry. The Club have several special offers available at the moment. The Thursday Open is now up and running and there is a 2009 offer for Golf and a Steak Meal - contact the club for details. In addition, members are reminded that Green Fees can be purchased for €15, to be used during 2009.Ladies ClubThe winner of the Winter Spring League has at last been decided. Congratulations to Team A (Pearse Corbett, Eleanor Fitzpatrick and Mary Allen) who overcame strong competition from Team J (Veronica McCormack, Dolores Moodley and Carmel Scally) to emerge as winners. The winners of this week"s competition were: 1st Pearse Corett (17) - 39pts, 2nd Carmel Scally (34) - 39 pts and 3rd Geraldine Coughlan (18) - 36pts.For the attention of all lady members - The draw times have been revised. From Wednesday 15th April the draw times are as follows - 9.15, 10am, 11am, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm, 5.30pm and 6pm.Junior coachingJunior golf coaching will commence on Friday, April 17 from 5pm to 6.30pm. There will be a Ladies Open day on Sunday, May 10. Time sheet available soon.
