Defibrillators arrive at three sites in Kinnegad
On Monday the three defibrillators that are the fruits of a year"s fundraising arrived at the three locations in the Kinnegad area.One was presented to Coralstown National School, one to St Etchen"s Kinnegad and one to Joe Bracken"s for Main Street.The Coralstown Kinnegad GAA club had already purchased one last year through some of the early fundraising and their own funds. There will now be four of these life saving devices available to the community and training will take place for personnel from the fours centres this Saturday at Safety Ireland in Blanchardstown.The defibrillators were presented by Kinnegad Community Council, Coralstown Kinnegad GAA and Kinnegad juniors Soccer who had worked together on the fundraising. There may still be a few places on the training course and another course will be organised soon. Exciting right up to the final whistle, the Kinnegad Coralstown girls took an early lead which enabled them to continue with confidence. The final score - Kinnegad/Coralstown 1-7, Tyrrellspass 0-3. With their new title 'County Champions' they go on to represent Westmeath in the Leinster Qualifiers in June. Well done girls and we wish you continued success. The tickets for the raffle for the Vintage Fordson Major Tractor, €1000 and a flat screen TV will be on sale at Mass in the parish churches over the next two weekends.
