Ballymore Notes
Congratulations to all the players, management and everyone connected to the club on their winning of the Junior B Division 5 league Championship. The win was assured after a 1-11 to 2-6 win over Kilucan last week. The team had been going well all season in the league so with a good result needed it was up to Brian and the selectors to help push the club over the line. The match, which was extremely well supported, was the usual mix of hard hitting, handling errors and good link play and made for a good close and entertaining match.Killucan had a number of good chances in the first half but good defensive play by Ballymore kept the contest close. The game was played at a good tempo and to be fair Ballymore could and should have won by more and on another day might have done. However the result was what counted and the result was duly delivered. With many of this team also playing Intermediate this year a carry over of the momentum and winning mentality is needed for the next Championship match still some 5 weeks away. Well done to all concerned.Team: Conor McNeil, Ciaran Finnerty, Andy Slevin, Bobby McDermott, Shane Rooney, Darragh Rooney (Capt), Brian Finnerty, Francis Hughes, Anthony Kearney, Alan Slevin, Dermott Farrell, Louie Meares, Stephen Rooney, James Eivers and Anthony Martin.
