Thursday June 18th fixture at Mullingar featured all eight first round heats of the 525 yds Liam Brussels Memorials Sweepstake with a winners prize of €2,900.In the first heat Cuil Beauty led to the last bend where Clongill Lass took control into the home straight and had three and three quarter lengths to spare at the line in 30.52. The winner is owned in Navan by Peter Sheridan.The second heat was won in fine style by Aranock Blaise which is owned in Ballinagar by Noel O"Meara. After breaking in front she resisted the late challenge of Kildoon Charlie by two and a quarter lengths in 30.00 and recorded her third victory form three starts.Edenderry trainer supplied the winner of the third heat with Downs Rebel which he trains for the Kildare Bees and Pees Syndicate. Having been led to the last bend by Dulwich King he took control into t he home straight and held on to win by one length in 30.44.The best return of the session was posted in the fourth by Ardera Hadies which is trained by Paddy McCormack for Dublin owner Austin Kelly. Gambling John broke in front and led into the back straight where the chasing Ardera Hadies found top gear and powered home eleven lengths clear from the early leader in 29.60 and recorded the first leg of a double for his trainer.Mullingar owner Sean Mullen supplied the winner of the fifth heat with Bawnfune Napolii. After breaking in front she made light work of the opposition when she made all the running to score by a distance from Whatsthehurry in 29.79.Paddy McCormack completed the double in heat six with Faith Dancer which he trains for the Tullamore Mid Vet Syndicate. Having been led in the early stages she took the lead into the last bend and had seven and three quarter lengths to spare at the line from Automic Dancer in 29.92.In a closely contested seventh heat Lowtown Serenade broke in front and resisted the challenge of Aranock Royal all the way to the line to win by the shortest of margins in 29.98. The winner is owned in Naas by Michael Kenny.Home Melody was unopposed in the betting market in the eighth heat and she duly did the business for her Mountmellick owner Mrs Marcella Campbell. Having been in arrears in the early stages she took the lead into the home straight and went on to win by two and three quarter lengths from the longtime leader Crinkill Beauty in 30.07.Geashill trainer Tommy Bolton supplied the winner of the 400 yds third race with Lady Mon Dancer which he trains for Kildare owner David Kane. From a fast start she made all the running to win by four and three quarter lengths from Hitmetwice in 22.68.From a level break in the 525 yds fifth race Sugar Ray Reno took control in the back straight and went on to win by five and a quarter lengths from Habito Express in 30.20. The winner is trained by Francis Murray for the Dalystown Oh Me Oh My Syndicate.Dysart owner Miss Joan Byrne supplied the winner of the 525 yds eleventh race with Coolemount Rita. Apart from the usual sponsored races the programme included three opening round heats of the Accelerated Drains Midland Puppy kindly sponsored by John Foley.Slick Ace which is owned by Keith Allsop (England) and trained by Pat Buckley topped the market at odds on in heat one race two and he made light work of the field when coasting home by seven and a half lengths to the good from Ballinamere Days in a best of night 29.41.Lolos Chief and Freedom Bond went to traps joint favourite at 6/4 in the fourth race heat two. Having led for most of the circuit it was the Codie Dunne trained Comans Lady that finished best to win by a neck from Lolos Chief in 29.79 at odds of 4/1. The winner is owned by Michael Vaughan and Jerry Bransfield.Trims Motor Bar which was easy to back at 3/1 in heat three race eight owned by Pat Lynch (Trim). This June "07 won the battle at the turn for home and thereafter he maintained this well earned advantage to score by a comfortable four and a quarter lengths from Newgrange Rocket in a fast 29.55 return.Racing opened with a win for the Jason Croarkin owned Tahina Lauren having hit the front at the early stage she maintained poll position throughout the trip to score by four and a quarter from Silverhill Man in 30.33. The winner is trained by Vera Croarkin.Offaly trainer Liam Brereton recorded a double at the meeting when his two runners Ballyhone Ace and Lady Jade came up trumps.Ballyhone Ace opened his winning account at the fourth time of asking in the third race over the 400 yds trip, Although well in arrears at the half way stage. He produced a winning challenge on the run in to land the spoils by half a length from Newbridge Tracker Rathfield Gold in 22.34.Lady Jade completed the Brereton Double in the sixth race the Clocha Rince National School 550 final Boot Room Boy made the early running but it was Lady Jade that hit the front down the back straight and thereafter she maintained this well earned advantage to score by a length and three quarters from Wannabuyadog in 31.77. The winner is owned by Brendan Quinn (Edenderry).Gino"s Choice which is trained by Robert O"Gleeson for Dublin owner Damien Nolan was well supported to win the fifth race over the 400 yds trip and he did the business in fine style when crossing the line by a quarter of a length from Springwell Vicky in 22.12.Sean O"Reilly"s (Longford) Cranley Aishling always had the edge over the field in the seventh race where she led home by half a length from the running on Kaley Chief in 30.01.The Tommy Bolton trained Groom Captain produced an impressive trap to line display to score by a length and a half from Springwell Ben in 21.88.
