Happy birthday to The Stables!

From this Thursday night, December 17, The Stables will be in the party mood, celebrating twenty years as the best Midlands music venue.With performances from Mick Flannery, Funzo, A Band Called Wanda, Jeff Buckley and AC/DC tribute acts, plus a host of the best local talent it is all set to be a triumphant celebration of everything The Stables is about.For two decades now The Stables has enjoying the reputation of showcasing the best local, national and international acts in Mullingar.On Thursday, the birthday celebrations begin with Funzo and A Band Called Wanda at nine o'clock. Entry is free. On Friday, Crimson, Icon on Fire, We Go Go and Rory Hughes plus the Detroit Heating Co take to the stage while on Saturday Mick Flannery and special guest Kate Walsh are set to give an intimate performance like no other.Tickets are available from The Stables or online from www.tickets.ieOn Sunday, December 20 there will be a very special 20th anniversary celebration "jam" featuring musicians from the last twenty years, and the price of admission on the night will be 50c, just like the first gig twenty years ago which cost 50p to enter. The Jam kicks off around six o'clock.On Wednesday, December 23, three generations of the Stables Music Scene - on the actual anniversary of the Stables' opening - Innate, Autofly and Darragh J Glennon will kick off at 9.30pm.Then from Saturday, December 26 through to Thursday, December 31, the line up is as follows with So Last Year (12 DJ's playing 15 minutes of their favourite tracks of 2009 from 9pm till late), The Mystery White Boys playing the music of Jeff Buckley, Thunderstruck playing the music of AC/DC and finally you can ring in the New Year with Disco Nouveau.
