Investigation underway as man is found dead in Mullingar

A Garda investigation has commenced after a man in his 30s was found dead at an apartment block in Mullingar this morning.Local residents say that the alarm was raised between 7am and 8am this morning, when the body of a man was discovered at Grove Court, Grove Street, in the centre of Mullingar town.The Garda Technical Bureau sealed off the area this morning to carry out a forensic analysis, and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.A post mortem is likely to take place later this afternoon.Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Grove Street area between 6pm on Sunday, February 14 and Monday morning before 9am, and who may have observed anything unusual or anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044-9384000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.Updated 13.45
