Natasha is home and doing very well
Mullingar girl Natasha Dyer has extended her thanks to all those who helped fundraise for her much-needed ear operation which took place in Munich at the beginning of April.Despite falling victim to the effects of the ash cloud and having to spend an extra week away from home, Natasha who suffers from Neurofibromatosis travelled to Germany for the op which was funded by the efforts of local people. The Loreto Student is to have an MRI scan in November to assess the results of the laser op which removed a tumour from her ear. If the tumour had gone unchecked, it would have resulted in the loss of hearing on the left side. the operation took just 50 minutes but cost in the region of €20,000."Thanks to everybody for all their help in getting me there," said Natasha."It was hard when me and mum were stuck there when all we wanted to do was get home. My aunty's brother lives in Belgium and after a couple of days we travelled there by train and ended up travelling on to France and getting the ferry home."I'm just in the middle of my Summer exams and everything is going well."There will be a fundraising evening (with a 60s and 70s theme) at the Bloomfield House Hotel on June 6. All welcome to what promises to be a great evening.
