Mullingar Choral Society begins its autumn season on Monday, September 6 with enrolment at Colaiste Mhuire at 7.45pm.Each year the choir put on an extraordinary performance with their annual concert in the Cathedral of Christ the King as well as their Christmas Concert in St. Paul’s Church.Popular with both young and old, Mullingar Choral Society is a mixed choir, meaning there is a section to suit every voice, so the group are welcoming new members and veteran campaigners on September 6. Sight reading ability is not essential.The ongoing success story of Mullingar Choral Society was reflected at its recent Annual General Meeting held in the Greville Arms Hotel, where after a most successful and enjoyable season the reins for Presidency was handed over to Liam Gilleran.Liam is a well known personality in Mullingar town and beyond, and very dedicated to community activities. The Society’s outgoing President, Brian Browne, congratulated Liam on his appointment and wished him well in his new role.Tributes were paid to Brian on his achievements and hard work within the last year.
