The late Jimmy Boyle, Mullingar
Tributes have been paid to the late James (Jimmy) Boyle, St. Brigid’s Terrace, Mullingar, who went to his eternal reward at St. Mary’s Hospital, Mullingar on Sunday, October 17.Jimmy, who was in his eightieth year, was son of the late Thomas and Margaret Boyle of Trinity Cottages, Patrick Street, Mullingar.A former employee of the Motor Company in Mullingar, and a former member of the Department of Post and Telegraphs’ outdoor staff, Jimmy was one of Mullingar’s most familiar faces during his working life. He was a keen fisherman, and a regular fixture on the banks of the Royal Canal, as well as an informed follower of horse racing.Predeceased by his brothers Bobby and Eamonn, and his sister Anna, Jimmy is survived by his brothers John, Tom, Andy and PJ, sisters Theresa Gunn and Chrissie Aughey; sisters-in-law Eva, Bernie, Carmel, Judy, Joan and Pat; brothers-in-law Marvin, Tom and Dermot, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Jimmy’s removal took place to Gilsenan’s Funeral Home, Mullingar on Tuesday, October 19, and he was received by Fr. Padraig McMahon, Adm., at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar that evening.Funeral Mass for the repose of his soul was celebrated by Fr. McMahon on the following (Wednesday) morning, after which Jimmy was laid to rest with his parents at Ballyglass Cemetery, Mullingar.The Boyle family have extended their thanks to the nurses and staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, Mullingar, and to all those who visited him while he was resident at the hospital.Jimmy’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Church, Mullingar on Sunday, November 21 at 12 noon, and all are welcome.
