Two men arrested for beating man with wooden “bats”

Two men were arrested following the attack of a man at his home in Kinnegad, who reportedly used wooden bats in a violent assault, leaving the man hospitalised overnight on Thursday last.It is believed the aggravated assault took place at an apartment on the Trim Road, Kinnegad, at approximately 2am on Thursday.Two males believed to be known to the injured party, entered the private residence and allegedly beat him over the head with wooden implements.The man was taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar where he was treated for injuries to the head. The attack is believed to be drug related.
