Three gongs for Westmeath at annual awards ceremony

Westmeath County Council has received a New Year pat on the back from its fellow local authorities, picking up three gongs at the annual Local Authority Members' Association (LAMA) Local Government awards last weekend.Among the three awards won by the Council was the prestigious ‘Best Public Building Award', with local authority members from across the country voting to reward work on the €40 million county buildings development in Mullingar.The state-of-the-art new headquarters also won the ‘Best Eco Friendly Building' award, while a certificate was also awarded to the local authority for its work on the renewal of Mullingar Town Park, which was nominated under the ‘Best Public Park' category.TO READ MORE SEE THIS WEEK'S EDITION 29.01.11
