Niall's top of the pops in America
Niall Horan and his One Direction band mates will create a little bit of pop music history this weekend, if, as expected, their debut album tops the US chart. The boyband have spent the most of March in America in a bid to win the hearts of America's teenage girls and their hard work certainly hasn't been in vain with their album, Up All Night, clocking up sales of almost 200,000 in the first week since its release. The album has been at the top of the iTunes chart all week and is expected to top the Billboard chart this weekend. On this most Irish of weekends, Niall though hasn't forgotten about the old sod, tweeting today:'Hello Ireland, good morning, big day for us paddy's tomorrow, and we play England in the rugby, much love from the US! #whatsthecraic.'One Direction's successful assault on the US is all the more noteworthy as many of this side of the water's best loved boybands such as Take That, Boyzone and Westlife failed to crack the highly competitive American market.
