A taste of Liverpool, in Danny's next Thursday

Liverpool-based bands King Twit and Long Finger Bandits are to tour Ireland in support of their latest CD releases, Bicycle EP and Exploits of the Decoits, and play Danny Byrne's on Thursday May 10.Comprising of four musicians, King Twit were formed in the autumn of 2011.After a brief stint in Amsterdam to get the ball rolling, they embarked on their first UK tour with 12 dates in support of their first set of Bicycle EP.They play guitar-based alternative folk rock pop in the vein of Captain Beefheart, Jonathon Richman and the Shins. As individuals they have played festivals such as Glastonbury and Eden and have been played on BBC radio 6 as well as doing numerous live sessions on radio Merseyside. With a solid line-up and a new set, Long Finger Bandits look ready to jive their way through 2012 offering a show of genre-gymnastics as they blend jazz, ska, circus and stories into their hip-swinging rock 'n' roll concoction. The face paint has not worn off, and neither have their mischievous unrehearsed stage frivolities, with spontaneous puppets, preaches, jokes and jiggles.Oh yes, and trumpets, trumpets, trumpets!Check them out Thursday May 10 in Danny Byrne's from 10pm.
