Time trial medal delight for Shaw and Brown

Irish paracyclist James Brown and his sighted pilot, Mullingar's Damien Shaw, have won a bronze medal for road racing at the Paralympic Games at London's Brands Hatch.Brown - a visually impaired athlete from Derry - and Shaw finished their Men's Individual 'B' time trial event in a time of 31:13.00 to land their first Paralympic medal, and Ireland's 12th.The race was won by Spain's Christian Venge and David Llaurado Caldero, while Italy's Ivano Pizzi and Lucca Pizzi took silver. Shaw and Brown finished some 22.68 second ahead of the fourth placed Canadian entry.The medal delight comes after the pair suffered disappointment in their bronze medal final on the track last week.Shaw and Brown are on the road again next Saturday, in the road race Individual 'B' final (2.30pm).
