Hanley ratified as Westmeath hurling manager
Westmeath senior hurling manager Brian Hanley's position was ratified for another year at last night's county board meeting in Cusack Park.Hurling board chairman Willie Murphy invited clubs to nominate potential selectors, but stressed that the club's should ask potential candidates if they would be interested in joining Hanley's backroom staff before they are nominated. He also revealed no decision had been as of yet regarding the management structure of the U21 hurling team.Athenry native Hanley has been in charge of Westmeath since April of last year, and led his charges to a famous Leinster SHC win over Antrim earlier this year, before running eventual provincial champions and All-Ireland finalists Galway close at Cusack Park.
