Launch of App for Children's Referendum: Your Voice, Your VoteThe National of Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) unveiled its Children's Referendum app in the Student Centre, UCD, Belfield, this morning as part of an innovative campaign to engage young voters. The HTML5 app 'Your Voice, Your Vote' uses animation and short, sharp messages to guide users through registering to vote, reasons to vote Yes and also encourages them to sign up for reminders about registration and voting dates."A key part of this referendum will be getting out the vote. Unique in Ireland, this app is an exciting and accessible way to let young people know the Children's Referendum is happening on November 10 - and that they are still in time to register and have their voices heard, if they have not already done so," said Mary Cunningham, director of NYCI."This is part of NYCI's wider national campaign to engage 18-25-year-olds in particular in the weeks coming up to the November 10 referendum date, to ensure we take advantage of the Saturday vote and maximise the participation of young voters," concluded Ms Cunningham. The web app is available to download on www.nyci.ie.NYCI is part of Yes for Children, a national campaign led by Barnardos, the Children's Rights Alliance, the ISPCC and Campaign for Children.
