Olympian 10k run
This Sunday starting in the Mullingar Town Park, you will have the chance to run, jog or walk at 10k with John Joe Nevin, Olympic silver medallist from London 2012, and Damien Shaw, who won bronze in the Paralympics.
They are helping to raise funds for Irish Autism Action and TEAM (Temporary, Emergency Accommodation, Mullingar).

The entry fee is €15 for the 10km run, jog or walk, and there is a shorter family route of 4.5km for €20 which includes both parents and children.
The 10km route sees the athletes run from the Mullingar Town Park up the main street, turning left down Mount Street, left again at Greyhound stadium running through Ballinderry turning right back towards the Lynn Road, then left on Lynn Road to Joe Dolan bridge, running over the bridge and at next round about turn left towards C-Link road - go across C-Link to the hospital round about where will then turn right - past hospital - round about take 2nd exit on to green road - continue straight until arrive at green bridge - turn left on bridge - continue down town centre - arrive at finish line Town Park/Annebrook Hotel.
The route is marked with every km and is AAI approved which will encourage all athletes to take part, but no matter how competitive or non competitive you are it is all about taking part and raising funds for two very worthy causes.
