Spread a little happiness

Every cloud has a silver lining but in this instance it maybe red, white or pink as these are the colours of the 12,000 Irish-grown plants given away today by a number of independent garden centres – including O’Meara’s Garden Pavilion – in a joint effort to spread a little happiness across the nation.

As if you didn’t know it Arthur O’Meara, Mullingar says the late spring has delayed the usual surge in gardening, which leaves the nurseries and garden centres with an abundant supply of beautiful plants.

Arthur hopes this goodwill gesture will encourage people back into the garden thereby improving the spirit of the nation.

The benefit of gardening has long been recognised. It’s a great way of relieving stress and we all derive immense pleasure from growing our own. So make it a blue sky weekend, get out to your local garden centre – it’s bursting with colour.
