Boylesports CEO drops in to congratulate millionaire Carol

As she joined her colleagues in Boylesports, Mullingar, Carol Loran didn't look at all like someone who'd just won a €5.25 million share of a National Lottery jackpot.

An exemplar of level-headedness, she phoned one of her five children first thing this morning with the incredible news - before putting on her uniform, and going to work as normal.

And after asking for a break to join her partner, Kevin 'Sham' Geoghegan to talk to the press about their life-changing win, the Greenpark resident promptly returned to work.

But such was the level of excitement in the Dominick Street bookies tonight, there was no chance of a normal afternoon behind the counter.

Boylesports CEO, John Boyle arrived in Mullingar just over an hour ago to congratulated his employee on the windfall.

"I've just come from head office, and there's a tremendous buzz in the place," he said, voicing his admiration for how Carol has mastered her emotions on such an unforgettable day.

The woman of the moment, who bought the €4 quick-pick ticket at the behest of her partner of four weeks, Kevin, said that the invaluable yellow slip of paper is, until they claim their prize, under lock and key in the bank.

"I haven't decided what to do with the winnings," she said. "I'm going to just take time to let this sink in!"
