We have a 1D ticket winner

The hall in Presentation Senior School was buzzing with excitement this morning as the winners of the Presentation Junior and Senior schools’ fundraising raffle were announced.

The fundraiser on Saturday in the Mullingar Greyhound Stadium was a great success. “There was a great turnout and we raised over €1,000 on the night,” said teacher Elaine Burke.

There were plenty of prizes to be won, including colouring pencils, markers and a One Direction pencil case.

The big prize though was kept until last; two tickets to go see Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis in Croke Park next summer!

Skaiste Motiesúnaité was the first name to be drawn out of the hat. Sorcha Oakes, Ava O’Reilly, Megan McCullagh and Niamh Monaghan were next to be drawn and win prizes.
The prize table began to empty but the excitement kept building. Jessica Toal, Jane Blundell, Clare Fagan, Mya Crichton, Barbra Kobe, Lír King and Rebecca Delaney all won spot prizes.

By then there was just one more name to be pulled out of the hat.
Who would be the lucky one going home with the 1D tickets?
The winner was... Rugile Sosickyte!

Rugile, whose favourite 1D member is Harry Styles, received a massive cheer from her classmates and friends as she went up to collect the top prize from Ms Burke.

She felt “good” about winning and said she will be taking her dad with her to Croker next summer to sing along to her favourite 1D song, One Thing.

Ms Burke said she would like to thank everybody that participated in Saturday evening’s fundraiser and those that bought raffle tickets.
