Lough Ennell now safe

‘It is now safe for bathers, dog owners and other animal owners to enter the water at Lilliput and all bathing areas around Lough Ennell.

‘The results of recent testing at Lough Ennell show that the algal bloom, which caused a scum of toxic blue-green algae to accumulate on the shore and presented a potential risk to humans and animals has now gone. The bathing restriction put in placed on 11 July, 2013 is now lifted.

‘The warning signs around the lake are being removed.’
