Hit contestant through to the finalé

Eurovision legend Johnny Logan has made it to number 3 in the Irish download charts with The Hit contestant Alan Earl’s song Prayin’.

Alan, who has relations in Mullingar, has secured a place in the final of the RTÉ song writing competition which goes out live this Friday August 30 from Dublin’s O2 Arena.

The RTÉ National Orchestra will be performing with the finalists before the public choose the winner.

Logan, who likened the hit song Prayin’ to his very own Love Actually moment, said he felt like the film’s Billy Nighy character when he learned of the news that the song had reached number 3!

Alan's uncle Peader Boyle is from Mullingar!
