All set for the Tarkett/GAF gathering
The date for the Tarkett/GAF Gathering is getting ever closer and there is a real air of expectation. Just three weeks remain until Saturday September 14 when The Greville Arms Hotel will resound to the cheers, celebrations and laughter of former staff colleagues who will be renewing friendship for the first organised reunion.
The group of staff members who are putting the night together, Tommy Keating, Hannah O’Toole, Pat Keegan, Jimmy O’Donnell, John Nooney, Arthur Comaskey, Andy Newman and Tom O’Connor, are hoping that the night will generate the maximum support and that people will buy their tickets, reasonably priced at €15, well in advance.
There has been a positive response to date with people who were in at the birth, so to speak, indicating their delight at having the opportunity to meet up for a chat and a catch-up.
A great number of photos have been assembled and passed on to Johnny Nooney, who has made up a wonderful presentation which will generate great interest. If there any other pictures out there, he will be delighted to add them to the collection and all donated photos will be returned.
A Tarkett gathering would not be same without the traditional raffle. Always successful in the past we hope to have a very big number of items on offer so if you would like to donate an item contact any of the committee members.
Remember this is just not a gathering of former workers, it is for family members, partners, friends and people who would like to meet any former staff member of Tarkett/GAF. Spread the word, Saturday September 14 is going to be a night to remember.
