Panto pirates pillage Mullingar!!!
Who saw this motley crew of pirates running around the streets of Mullingar on Saturday afternoon last?
Yes, you guessed it, filming for Mullingar pantomime - The Adventures of Sinbad at the Arts Centre - has already begun.
Apparently the very glamourous, but very evil Queen Akasha (Siobhán Moore) and her merry band of pirates, robbed the Mullingar Credit Union!!!
It’s all in jest folks, everyone’s current account is still intact, so don’t worry.
Every year the Mullingar Panto Group put together a short film as part of their show.
What’s in this year’s production is anyone’s guess. But, judging by these photos, the protagonists are up to no good!
The leading personalities of Mullingar and Westmeath, including the politicians, always get a crack of the whip - “Oh No They Don’t”, ...., “Oh Yes They Do” !
The little The Westmeath Examiner can give away is that Ben Dolan is involved, and he’s eating Apache pizza, and the crew are running past the Labour offices (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)!
More importantly, however, there are some fantastic on-set special effects.
Sinbad’s Pirate Ship, aptly named The Titanic, is a sight to behold.
In one of the biggest jaw dropping scenes from the production, Under The Sea, there are dolphins, lobsters, sea horses - you name it!
Think Shark’s Tail (the movie) meets Finding Nemo, meets The Little Mermaid!!!
Tickets for The Adventures of Sinbad, December 5 - December 21, are available from the Mullingar Arts Centre box office on 044 93 47777.
