Milltownpass in shock after drowning tragedy

The community around Milltownpass was left in shock this morning, as news broke of the death of a local man in a drowning accident.

The alert was raised by the man's family when he failed to return home after an evening out, and following a search, the body was found in the river that flows through the town, close to the man's home.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and the body was removed from the water.

The man, a grandfather in his 60s, was an extremely well-liked and well-respected man, who gave generously of his time to his family and his community.
