Niall's sweet Tweet

 Niall Horan's Tweet about turning 20 was the third most popular post on the social networking site in 2013.

Such is the Mullingar native's popularity amongst his 16,384,020 Twitter followers that his: "Yesss! I’m 20!Wohooo!No more teens!" post on September 13 was retweeted a whopping 366,679 times, making it the third most shared Tweet in the world this year. The most shared post was Glee actor Leah Michele's Tweet following the death of her co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith in July.

2013 was another year to remember for Niall, who celebrated Christmas at home with his family in Mullingar. In addition to the band's documentary film This is Us topping the UK and US box offices, their latest album Midnight Memories entered the charts at number one on both sides of the Atlantic in late November.

However, Niall is set for a painful start to 2014 as he is reportedly flying to the US in early January for an operation on his knee. However, 1Ders need not fear as the young singer will be back fighting fit in loads of time for the band's 2014 world tour.
