Strong words from Bressie on “neknomination”
Niall Breslin has used his celebrity status to speak out against the internet drinking game “neknomination”.
The Mullingar man, who has talked extensively on mental health awareness, took to social media to convey his outrage at the game, which encourages people to drink large amounts of alcohol and post videos online.
“Guys a friend of mine lost his cousin this morning with that horseshit neknomination bollix. Cop on those involved please,” said the Voice of Ireland coach.
Bressie’s comments were posted on Sunday February 2, following the death of 19-year-old Jonny Byrne from Carlow, whose death has been linked with the drinking game.
This morning, Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte called “neknomination” a stupid and silly phenomenon, and called on Facebook to take down Neknominate pages.
