'It makes us beautiful' says John as One Direction's Brit awards go on display in Mullingar

The Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar has scored a nice coup: they've got a loan of international global singing stars One Direction's 2013 and 2012 Brit awards.

Manager John Cochrane, who has regularly welcomed Niall Horan of One Direction to the hotel, is delighted at the honour, and said staff worked hard this week to create a nice display area in which to showcase the awards.

"It's fantastic for Mullingar that the first ever Brit awards associated with this town are here, on display, in The Greville Arms," he said.

"In fact," he quipped, it 'makes us beautiful'!"

The band's 2012 Brit award was for the best single of that year, "What Makes You Beautiful", and the boys' 2013 honour from the Brit's was for their global success.

The awards are on display until next week, along with a selection of Niall Horan memorabilia.
