Bunbrosna accident update: four confirmed dead

Gardaí at Mullingar are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in the townland of Portnashangan, N4, Mullingar, just before 8am this morning Saturday 28th June, 2014. A car and jeep were in collision at the above location. The male driver of the jeep has been removed to Mullingar General Hospital with minor injuries. Four females (no ages) were in the car and all have been confirmed dead. Their bodies have been taken by ambulance to Mullingar General Hospital. The section of the N4 road has been closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision examination. Diversions are in place. Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have travelled the road this morning to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044 - 9384000 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. |
