N4 crash: gardaí appeal for witnesses

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have been on the N4 this morning to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044 - 9384000 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

They are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Portnashangan just before 8am, today, Saturday June 28. 

 

* Update from Lakeside Wheelers re. the National Cycling Championships:

Based on latest Garda advice, it is anticipated that the National Cycling Championships will commence at 4pm. The ladies' race will reduced to 5 laps. The vets' race will start when the ladies have completed 1 & 3/4 laps; it will also be reduced to 5 laps.

Veteran racers are asked to assemble at the sign-on area at 4.30pm.
