Farm accidents in focus
Next Monday is National Farm Safety Day and to highlight this, the Irish Farmers Journal has produced four pages, including an innovative, one-off front page.
According to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), a total of 176 people have lost their lives on Irish farms in the last 10 years, making farming the most dangerous occupation in Ireland.
So far in 2014, 13 people have died while working on Irish farms.
For all of 2013, there were 16 deaths: a quarter of those were children.
