Delvin man wins on Lottery Money Spinner
Westmeath resident Stuart Wells, who won €24,000 on the National Lottery’s Money Spinner event on Saturday, is originally from London and has been living in Ireland for 14 years.
He lives in Delvin with his partner Eddie Byrne, who he is engaged to. Stuart’s brother, Guy, lives in Cork. His other brother Bruce and mum Jean, will watch the show on YouTube from the UK.
Stuart works in a petrol station, Daybreak, in Delvin, run by Paul Williams.
His partner Eddie bought two tickets recently and got three stars on both. He filled out one and said to Stuart to put his name on the other one.
Both went into the same draw and the ticket with Stuart’s name was drawn. Coincidentally, the Scratch card was bought in the petrol station Stuart works in.
Stuart is artistic and enjoys crafting – especially stained glass and fused glass. He attends craft fairs and has a glass workshop at his house. He exhibits his creations as a hobby.
Stuart’s partner Eddie, Eddie’s mother, Marian, and Eddie’s two sisters Natasha and Sinead will be at the National Lottery to support him on Saturday.
On getting to spin the wheel, he said: “It’s amazing to be picked, you always dream of it and hear it.”
