Mullingar is the hottest!

The hottest place in the country yesterday was Mullingar, where temperatures hit 26.8 degrees. They're predicting today will be even hotter.

Today
This morning any mist or fog will soon lift. It will be mostly dry with good sunny spells.

However, cloudier over some parts of Leinster and Munster with showers turning heavy and thundery the risk of hail.

It will be very warm again with top temperatures reaching between 22 and 27 degrees and winds will be light variable or easterly.

Tonight
Tonight the showers over the west will gradually die out and it will become mainly dry with good clear spells, but some fog patches may form over the western half of the country.

Lowest temperatures will fall to between 13 and 15 degrees and winds will be light variable to easterly.
