VIDEO: Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill visits Mullingar Athletic AFC
Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill visited Mullingar Athletic today, as part of the latest leg of the Football Association of Ireland's 2014 Festival of Football Westmeath.
O'Neill, who fielded questions at the Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club Convention at the Mullingar Park Hotel last night, met with groups of children taking part in Athletic's eFlow soccer summer camp.
Joined by FAI chief executive John Delaney, the former Leicester and Celtic boss oversaw a penalty shootout (see our video below) and met with club officials. He was welcomed by Athletic chairman Frank Harkin, who introduced him to long-serving Athletic clubman Ollie Holmes.
O'Neill chatted with Athletic star and Ireland U15 international Aidan Keena, before heading for Belvedere House, Gardens and Park to meet with Westmeath County Council officials.
The former Northern Ireland international was impressed with the quality of pitches and facilities at the Mullingar club, and hopefully, he spotted one or two future candidates for the ranks of the Boys in Green.
