Mullingar band white chalk selected for guinness amplify

White Chalk who play Electric Picnic this weekend have been selected for the Guinness Amplify event.

The indie folk band are one of six up and coming music acts out of 8,000 hopefuls across Europe selected to share the story of their music career to date in the form of an artist’s video journey.

Shot in Belvedere House, the video diary documents how the seven-piece from Mullingar, Longford and Dublin, came together.

Fronted by former Voice of Ireland contestant, Conor Quinn, White Chalk are Kevin Farrell, Aishling McCarthy, David Doyle, Liam O’Reilly, Niamh Kirby and Brian Masterson, and they will take part in the Guinness Amplify session in the Greville Arms on Saturday September 13.

Their debut EP, Golden Kids, went to number one on the album chart downloads on iTunes, and one of the new tracks (Juno) from their second EP, Indigo Sound, which will be launched later this autumn, is featured in the video diary. “We’re so excited to share this video – it was so much fun to film and it will give people an insight into our music,” Conor Quinn told the Westmeath Examiner this week.

White Chalk live in The Greville Arms Hotel on Saturday September 13 is a free event but admission is strictly by wristband only to the first 200 people. Tickets are available from the Greville reception and come with a complimentary glass of Guinness.
