Evicted couple delighted with new home in multyfarnham
The retired Dublin couple evicted in August from their home in Castleknock have found a new place to live – Multyfarnham – and they’re loving it already.
On Saturday, Martin and Violet Coyne moved into a four-bed house in Multy, after losing a long battle to stay in the house they had previously rented for fifteen years.
Their efforts to find a place to live in Dublin proved fruitless, with rents up in the region of €1,400 per month.
“We had no choice – but it’s not like we’re in Albania! I like it there,” said Martin, a keen hobby fisherman, who already knew the area from fishing expeditions to Westmeath.
Out and about, people say hello when he greets them, and he and Violet are looking forward to putting the past behind them.
However, their legal woes aren’t yet over: earlier today, Tuesday, at a court hearing in Dublin costs were awarded against them over their eviction by receivers for ACC/Rabobank.
