A kitchen hero in mullingar

There’s a kitchen hero in Mullingar tomorrow, Friday November 14, and he wants to share his skills with you.

He’s Donal Skehan and he’ll be at the arts centre Mullingar in the evening, and visiting Spar shops during the day.

Donal will be visiting, Spar Ardleigh from 2.45pm, Spar Dublin Road from 3.45pm and Spar Dominic Street from 4.30pm.

Donal Skehan, who has just recently joined forces with Jamie Oliver as the newest member of the FoodTube network, is a self-taught cook and TV presenter whose Spar sponsored Kitchen Hero Live Tour takes him to 18 theatres across the country, promoting the benefits of home cooking while demonstrating how easy it is to prepare delicious food.

Noel McIntyre said: “Donal Skehan’s simple and fun cooking style really resonates with our customers, particularly the younger generations and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to get our customers excited about food.” Roy Connor added: “Donal is a wonderful ambassador for the Spar brand and we’re really looking forward to hosting him at our store.”

The 28-year-old Dublin native is the author of four best-selling cook books and is also the star of RTE’s hit TV series, Kitchen Hero which is back on the screens from today, November 13.

Spar Dublin Road has been part of the community for 37 years and employs 19 staff. Store opening hours are 6am-11pm daily. Spar Dominic Street has been part of the community for seven years and employs 12 staff. Store opening hours are 7am-10pm, Mon-Sat.
