Female employees shock after armed kinnegad robbery

Two female employees of a business premises in Kinnegad were left in shock when a man, armed with a knife, stole money from the till and the ladies' handbags this morning.

The drama unfolded shortly after 11am when the man, his face covered, rushed in and demanded cash.

He issued threats to the women who, fortunately, were not injured before he made his way to the till and grabbed an undisclosed of money.

Before leaving the shop he stole the women’s handbags. It is understood that he made his getaway in a waiting silver coloured car.

Gardaí were alerted and were on the scene promptly but there was no trace of the raider or the getaway vehicle.
