Mullingar awarded purple flag

The town of Mullingar has been awarded the Purple Flag at a ceremony held in the creative quarter of Dublin last night, Tuesday.

Citing the high level of engagement and dedication between all stakeholders to create a vibrant night time and early evening economy, the built environment marrying the old with the new, as well as the safe movement of people, were just some of the many reasons Mullingar has achieved Purple Flag status.

Purple Flag status has been linked with the economy of towns improving ten-fold.
