Robbie henshaw nominated for player of the tournament
Westmeath native Robbie Henshaw is one of only three of Ireland’s 6 Nations winning squad to be in contention for Player of the Tournament.
He is nominated alongside inspirational team captain team captain, Paul O’Connell and Munster scrum half, Conor Murray, whose deft chip set up Henshaw’s momentous try against England.
Playing in his first 6 Nations, the Garrycastle man, who plays his provincial rugby with Connacht and who played underage gaelic football for Westmeath, had an outstanding tournament.
Indeed that memorable and decisive try in the Aviva Stadium is also listed as one of the plays of the tournament in a separate poll.
