Power now back

ESB Networks has revealed that the "tripping" or cabling fault that led to an abrupt stoppage of power in Mullingar this afternoon is now over.

Some 1,038 customers were affected when the incident occurred, just before 2pm.

While ESB Networks estimated initially that it would take until 5 pm for the restoration of supply, it was in fact restored at 3pm.
