Tourists car broken into while on mullingar fishing trip

Tourists visiting from Belgium and Holland did not receive the Irish welcome they were expecting when their car was broken into while on a fishing trip at Lilliput last week.

On Saturday April 11, they went fishing around 1pm and returned at 2.30pm to find their car windows had been smashed, at a cost of €200 in repairs.

Their rucksacks, cameras and passports were taken.

They reported that other cars in the vicinity were also broken into.
