Garda appeal for witnesses to fatal n4 road crash
Gardaí in Granard are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the main Dublin to Longford Road N4 yesterday.
The collision between a car and a minibus occurred at Corboy, Edgeworthstown at approximately 11.10pm.
The male (36 years) driver of the car was seriously injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to the Morgue at Mullingar hospital.
A number of ambulances attended and treated the passengers (14 young passengers and two adult passengers) who were on the bus the scene.
The bus driver was taken to Mullingar hospital, where his injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision Examination and diversions are in place.
